This year the JCPA will honor William C. Daroff, of the Jewish Federations of North America, with the JCPA Tikkun Olam Award and Wade Henderson, Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, with the JCPA Tzedek Award. Both have worked tirelessly for the most vulnerable in our community.

The JCPA’s Tikkun Olam Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate a deep commitment and extraordinary effort to improving the lives of people everywhere and who embody the Jewish principle of tikkun olam. This award acknowledges William’s commitment to the religious values of social justice, tolerance, and civility in the public square. Past honorees include Vivian Bass, Stuart Kurlander, and Susan W. Turnbull.

The JCPA Tzedek Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate a deep commitment and extraordinary effort to improving the lives of people everywhere. It celebrates the Jewish ideal of a “Tzedek“, someone who embodies and embraces the concepts of justice, righteousness, integrity, and fairness. “Judaism is a religion of love…, and of justice…, but also of compassion, for without compassion law itself can generate inequity. Justice plus compassion equals tzedek, the first precondition of a decent society.” Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. Wade lives these values every day. This is the inaugural year for the Tzedek award, and we’re delighted that Wade will be the first recipient.

We’re very excited to be able to honor both of these amazing leaders, and invite you to join us at the JCPA Chair’s dinner where we will be presenting them with their awards.

You can help us make this a special evening by helping us honor them at the Chair’s Tikkun Olam Award Dinner.

Join Us February 26 at 6:30 p.m.! Buy a ticket to the dinner, or click here to sponsor the conference in their honor.
